LA Fed President Ron Herrera Casts Electoral Vote for Biden-Harris

In the final phase of the 2020 Presidential election, our own Los Angeles County Federation of Labor President Ron Herrera cast his vote today, as one of California’s fifty-five Electors in the Electoral College, for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to be the next U.S. President and Vice President.

“It was an honor to participate in this historic vote in the Electoral College representing the hard-working union members that were crucial in winning this victory for the future of our country. Working families have experienced unimaginable hardships, especially this year, through record layoffs, job losses, and deaths due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, income inequality in our country has increased with the top 1% holding more wealth than the bottom 50% of Americans. It’s shameful.

But today, we have hope for the future. This is a victory for our democracy and for working families. Our work does not end here, Union members must roll up our sleeves and get to work to heal and rebuild our Nation by pursuing the common good through labor’s values of hard work, respect, dignity, and integrity.”
